The 2009 Homeless Count is a large-scale project that requires much planning and a dedicated team of people for implementation. The 2009 Team is a represenatative pool of best-practices experience and innovative new ideas. Most importantly, each member of the team plays a pivotal role in the 2009 Homeless Count's success, which means that each person "COUNTS" in a very important way.

The Executive Director is charged with general supervision of all Count planning & implementation. She is responsible for ensuring that all representatives work together to make the 2009 Count as complete and representative as possible.
Jennifer received her Master's in CityPlanning from the University of California at Berkeley and has 12 years of community development experience. She has served as Executive Director at the Alliance since 2004.
The CoCD (Continuum of Care Development) Committee is charged with overseeing all Count planning & implementation. More specifically, the CoCD works with the Count Coordinator to determine methodology, review research, build upon social capital & partnerships, and is responsible for authorizing all stages of implementation.
The Count Coordinator is charged with all planning & implementation of the 2009 Count. Directly, she is responsible for guiding and supervising all regional Count Coordinators (CBSA's) and ensuring County-wide consistency and communication throughout the entire planning & implementation process.
Jessica is currently completing her Master's in Community & Economic Development through Illinois State University. Jessica serves as a grad student from the Stevenson Center as part of the Peace Corp's Masters International Program.
The CBSA's (Community Based Service Areas) are responsible for more specific regional planning & implementation. Each CBSA selects a regional Count Coordinator that work(s) closely with the 2009 Count Coordinator. Each CBSA also selects Coordinators for other pertinent aspects of implementation. The regional Count Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all other Coordinators within their CBSA. The CBSA's are also responsible for recruiting volunteers, determining hot spots, working closely with consumers and aiding in general planning.
Count Teams act as the driving force behind implementation. Each volunteer represents an invaluable source of data collection, outreach, and impact! Volunteers serve as the physical enumerators and surveyors of those unsheltered homeless persons that are found during the Count. On January 22nd, 2009 Count Teams will take to the streets to make real change in their communities!
