Did you know that 2.5 to 3.5 million people experience homelessness in the United States every year? Did you know that an average of 17,000 people experience homelessness every night in Illinois alone?
Did you know that there is something you can do to help?
Every other year, the Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County coordinates a Homeless Count. This year, the Alliance's 3rd Bi-Annual Homeless Count was held on JANUARY 22, 2009. Over 150 volunteers dedicated 6.5 hours of their time to help count over 300 square miles of suburban Cook County. Those volunteers were responsible for finding, interviewing and providing gift bags to homeless persons that were found during the night.
We are always looking for interested partners to get in engaged in planning our upcoming projects, fundraisers, and the 2011 Homeless Count!
We invite you to explore the information provided and contact us with any interest to get involved! And we thank you for sharing our mission, our goals, and our hopes for a better future.
